AlUla Experiential Tramway

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)

As part of our continued commitment to responsible and sustainable development in AlUla, The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) is pleased to share the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the AlUla Experiential Tramway Project.

This comprehensive report represents a key milestone in ensuring that the tramway is designed, constructed, and operated in harmony with the region’s unique natural environment, cultural heritage, and local communities.

What the Report Covers

The ESIA outlines:

  • The scope and alignment of the tramway project
  • Environmental baseline studies, including flora, fauna, geology, and air quality
  • Social and economic impact assessments
  • Cultural heritage considerations
  • Detailed mitigation and monitoring plans
  • Stakeholder engagement processes
  • Climate resilience and sustainability strategies

Why It Matters

AlUla’s landscape is both sensitive and significant. This ESIA helps ensure that development enhances rather than disrupts, balances access with preservation, and delivers long-term value to people, nature, and culture.
