Source for economic diversity and sustainable growth

Palm cultivation in AlUla flourished in the first millennium BC when the Dadaanites and Lihyanites civilisations settled in the region. Since then, Palm trees have been a source of sustenance, prosperity and crucial in developing the local culture. With AlUla's fertile soil and freshwater, the date farmers of AlUla are famous for the best quality of Barni dates in the world and other dates such as Black and Red Helwa.

The AlUla Dates Festival plays an active role in supporting commercial opportunities for farmers and buyers by helping increase the volume of dates sold each year. In addition to its role in providing an important platform to exchange experiences and expertise, it supports farmers in developing techniques to position their high-quality dates and increase their competitiveness in local and international markets.

During the evening Souk, the AlUla Dates Festival will bring together local artisans, cuisine, and handicrafts with entertainment and activities to celebrate with family and friends.

Event Term
The event shall run for 4 weekends from 4 Rabi’ Al-Awwal to 26 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444 AH, corresponding from 30 September to 22 October 2022.

Dates Auction
The auction shall run from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Market - Alsouq
Includes events, handicrafts, local products, and entertainment for children and adults from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Special Event
AlShannah Event SHALL take place on Saturday, 22th October from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.


Free transportation is available to and from AlUla Dates Festival from the following locations:

From the Winter Park and Azizia to AlFursan Village:
The first bus leaves at 4:30 pm and the last bus at 9 pm (one trip every 30 minutes).

From AlFursan Village to the Winter Park and Azizia:
The first bus leaves at 5:30 pm and the last bus at 12 am (one trip every 30 minutes).
