AlUla Music Competition

Applicant Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • The applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
  • The selected winner must be able to commit approximately 8-10 hours to develop and finalize the composition (with technical support), this is likely to take place during the month following the winner’s announcement.
  • You can apply regardless of your music ability level, whether you are a beginner or a professional.
  • The applicant should be available mid June to attend the final judging day in AlUla if selected and required.

Application Eligibility Criteria

  • Applications must be submitted by 15 May 2026
  • The submitted composition must be original and composed by the applicant
  • The duration of the piece must be between 30-60 seconds.
  • The composition must reflect the spirit, identity and culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and AlUla.
  • The winning piece will need to  be developed into a full composition that will be played in different locations across AlUla, adapting to technical requirements  (guidance will be provided to the winner).
  • Creativity and innovation in melody and composition will be key evaluation factors.Incomplete submissions or those that do not comply with the Terms and Conditions may be disqualified.
  • The winner must transfer all intellectual property rights to the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU).

Terms & Conditions

The competition-winning composer confirms that their submitted musical composition is and original piece (of their making) and further agrees that all intellectual property rights to the musical piece shall be exclusively owned by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), and waives any current or future rights related to it.
